How Do I Properly Clean a Ceramic Caquelon?
First of all: ceramic caquelons are extremely easy to care for. Whether in the dishwasher or by hand, the fondue pots are quickly ready for use again. However, food residues can be quite stubborn, especially if they have dried overnight. Burnt or dried-on food loosens easily if the pot is soaked in water. If necessary, a scraper made of wood or plastic can be used.
Vinegar and baking powder are also traditional household remedies for getting the fondue pot perfectly clean again. Simply mix them in the pot, scrub with a brush – and you’re done. Ceramic as a material is resilient; there is no danger of damage from acetic acid or similar substances.
Of course, it’s best if nothing burns in the first place. The fondue set should always be supervised during the meal. Especially when children are at the table, burners and the hot pot must be carefully monitored for safety.
What Other Materials Are Caquelons Made From?

Caquelons must meet one primary requirement: they must be fireproof. Stability is also important since they are everyday household items.
